Michael Prokopchak, ASLA
President
Michael Prokopchak discovered his passion for the landscape industry at just 13 years old while working for a nursery in Davidsonville, MD. A graduate of Temple University with a degree in Landscape Architecture, he is a full member of the American Society of Landscape Architects and brings over 35 years of industry experience to his work. Known for his exceptional creativity and passion, Michael founded Walnut Hill Landscape Company to deliver unparalleled design and service. Under Michael’s leadership, Walnut Hill has earned numerous Grand Awards for design and installation from prestigious organizations, including the National Association of Landscape Professionals and the Landscape Contractors Association of MD, DC, and VA. His commitment to quality ensures that every project receives his personal attention, setting Walnut Hill apart from the competition. Beyond his professional achievements, Michael is dedicated to community service, volunteering as a firefighter/EMT and coaching youth lacrosse. He enjoys spending his leisure time boating on The Chesapeake Bay with his family and friends, embodying the same enthusiasm for life that he brings to his work.

Deborah Latham
Controller
Deborah has over 15 years’ experience in providing professional services across a broad range of finance areas including compliance, project financial management, inventory, internal control, business process, audit and financial reporting. She is committed to fostering a culture of transparency and continuous improvement to help us provide excellent customer service to our clients and our teams. Prior to joining Walnut Hill Landscape Company, Deborah held senior finance positions working within construction and service industries throughout Maryland.
Deborah earned a bachelor’s degree from Notre Dame of Maryland University with a Major in Accounting and a Minor in Business Management. When she is not working, she enjoys relaxing with family and friends, the outdoors, and traveling.

Jordan Blake, LIC
Director of Operations
Jordan brings over 12 years of experience in landscape operations, team leadership, and process optimization. With a strong background in managing high-performing crews and implementing scalable systems, Jordan focuses on driving efficiency, accountability, and consistent execution across all phases of production.
Prior to joining Walnut Hill Landscape Company, Jordan held leadership roles in both residential and commercial landscape firms, where they were responsible for improving operational workflows, increasing crew productivity, and strengthening communication between sales and production teams.
At Walnut Hill, this role is focused on refining internal systems, supporting field teams, and ensuring every project meets the company’s high standards for quality, craftsmanship, and client experience.

Lisa Graves
Director of Administration
Lisa has over 16 years of office administration and customer service experience across the healthcare and food industries. With a strong background in healthcare contract management and credentialing, Lisa has successfully led teams while ensuring operational excellence and regulatory compliance. Before joining Walnut Hill Landscape Company, Lisa managed healthcare contracts and credentialing processes, overseeing a team and driving efficiencies through structured processes and clear communication. She is deeply committed to fostering a culture of transparency and continuous improvement, helping teams deliver exceptional service to both clients and colleagues. Lisa earned her bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from the University of Baltimore. Her professional focus centers on People and Culture, where she strives to build supportive environments that empower teams to perform at their best.

Emily Marano
Landscape Management Account Manager
Originally from North Carolina, she relocated to the DMV area in 2002 after earning an Associate’s Degree in Landscape Gardening. Over the past two decades, she has built a successful career in the green industry, serving in roles such as estate gardener, residential and commercial account manager, and sales manager.
With a deep-rooted foundation in horticulture and a client-first mindset, she is passionate about cultivating landscapes that are not only beautiful and healthy but also reflect each client’s unique vision. From expansive estates to intimate residential gardens, she brings both a personal touch and a high level of professional expertise to every project.
She currently resides in Harwood with her husband and their three daughters.

Her entrepreneurial experience strengthened her ability to identify client needs, deliver tailored solutions, and build lasting relationships—skills that translate seamlessly into her work in account management.
Throughout her career, spanning two decades, April has held high-level sales roles where she consistently grew and managed large client portfolios and exceeded performance targets. She is known for her consultative approach, strong communication skills, and ability to navigate complex projects while upholding exceptional client satisfaction.
Beyond her professional experience, April has a deep personal passion for gardening, landscape design, and sustainable practices. Her hands-on experience managing a farm and landscaping acreage enhances her ability to connect with clients and offer informed, creative solutions.
Originally from Colorado, April relocated to Maryland in 2000, where she has since built both her career and deep community roots. Outside of her professional life, she values time with her family and enjoys cultivating her own gardens, exploring landscape ideas, and embracing the outdoors. Her personal interests reflect her commitment to creating beautiful, functional environments both at home and for her clients.

Tarynn Noll
Landscape Design and Sales
Tarynn is a Landscape Design and Sales Specialist with a Bachelor of Science and a minor in horticulture, with an emphasis in design from Penn State University. She brings hands-on experience in design-build, masonry, and field work, along with a strong background in customer service.
She is passionate about creating outdoor spaces that are both functional and visually compelling, and she enjoys working closely with clients to turn their ideas into well-crafted, lasting landscapes. She approaches and combines practical knowledge of construction with an eye for design, helping guide projects from concept through completion.
Tarynn recently relocated to Maryland from Pennsylvania, and she is excited to continue expanding her career in landscape design. Outside of work, she is passionate about spending time outdoors, cooking for friends and family, and volunteering for any cause related to animals.
